At first, Mystery Legends - Beauty and the Beast might look like just another typical hidden object puzzle game. Anyway, after a couple of minutes of playing it I realized it’s much more appealing and interesting than what I expected. I’m not a fan of hidden object puzzle games, as they all look quite the same, lacking originality and failing to be truly challenging. I was pleased to notice that Mystery Legends - Beauty and the Beast manages to stay away from this stereotype. First, the connection between the game storyline and the actual gameplay is omnipresent. While other similar games just tell you most of the story in the introduction, then they make you solve some puzzles just to find out how the ending goes, in Mystery Legends - Beauty and the Beast every solved puzzle reveals a new part of the story. The story advances as you progress throughout the game, and this makes the game captivating and addictive.
Second, the story is truly intriguing. It felt a bit too girlish from time to time, with all the romance involved, but it’s also undeniably intricate and exciting.
Thirdly, the graphics are much better than the graphics that other hidden-object games offer. It’s easy to notice that a lot of work has been put into the cut scenes and various other artworks. Overall, the game looks pretty polished and lustrous.
Lastly, the actual, typical hidden object puzzles are not as frequent as you might have expected them to be. A lot of other riddles and puzzle types compose most of this game, and this is a good thing as it keeps boredom away.
In conclusion, Mystery Legends - Beauty and the Beast is a nice puzzle solving adventure game that manages to be much more enjoyable than the many other games of the same genre.
